"Snowpiercer," a post-apocalyptic sci-fi film directed by Bong Joon-ho, has attracted more than 5 million moviegoers in 10 days since its opening, its Korean distributor said Friday.

The film drew over 5 million viewers as of 2 p.m. Friday, CJ E&M in Seoul said, citing box-office data. It stars top actor Song Kang-ho and actress Ko A-sung, both of South Korea, Chris Evans, Ed Harris and Tilda Swinton.

The action thriller, Bong's English-language debut film, has been exported to 167 countries around the world, according to CJ.

The Weinstein Company in the United States was given the film’s distribution rights in North America, Britain, New Zealand and Australia, while distribution rights in France, East Europe and South America went to Wildside in France, CJ said.
