An American man won a Picasso painting worth about $1 million through an online charity raffle. The Pennsyvania resident, Jeffrey Gonano (25), was just “looking for art” to hang on his wall when he read an article about Picasso painting raffle event in Sotheby Paris. The raffle ticket was €100 each ($136 US). The charity issued total of 50,000 tickets.

The painting was originally at a museum in New York and the charity, International Association to Save Tyre, bought the painting to organize this raffle event in hopes of raising €5 million ($6.8 million US).

The charity announced the winner on its website (http://www.aistyr.com), "The lucky winner of our Lottery "1 Picasso for 100 euros" is Mr. Jefferey Gonano, a 25-year-old American, project manager at a fire sprinkler firm, living in Wexford, Pennsylvania. His winning ticket is #747815."
