Hyundai Glovis opens new knock-down plant in Wanju

Hyundai Glovis, a logistics service provider affiliated with Hyundai-Kia Automotive Group, said Friday that it has recently opened a new knock-down plant in Wanju, North Jeolla Province.

The Knock-Down (KD) Center located in the Wanju Techno Valley Complex will assemble and package knock-down automotive kits that will be shipped to a plant in southwest China’s Sichuan province.

Under a contract Hyundai signed with its local partner Sichuan Nanjun Automobile, work to build a new commercial vehicle plant has been underway in Ziyuan, Sichuan province, since early 2013. Completion is scheduled for the first half of this year.

Hyundai Glovis operates two other knock-down centers in the country. One of them is located in Ulsan, and the other in Asan, South Chungcheong province.
