Men's 400m freestyle swimming race draws 26.4% viewer rating in South Korea

The 2014 Asian Games men's 400-meter freestyle swimming race, in which Park Tae-hwan of South Korea won the bronze medal, recorded a combined viewer rating of 26.4 percent in the country, a rating measurement company in Seoul said on Wednesday.  

It is the highest viewership rating so far among all events that took place at the 17th Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea.      

KBS2 posted a viewer rating of 17 percent, while MBC recorded 9.4 percent, according to Nielsen Company Korea.

Sun Yang of China won the 400-meter freestyle final at the Munhak Aquatics Center in Incheon, Tuesday. The silver medal went to Hagino Kosuke of Japan.

In the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, Park won the 400-meter freestyle final, becoming the first Asian swimmer to claim an Olympic gold medal in men's 400-meter freestyle and the first Korean to win an Olympic medal in swimming.
