Grevin wax museum to open in Seoul July 30

The Grevin Seoul, a wax museum from Paris, will open in Ulji-ro, central Seoul, July 30.

Wax figures of about 80 prominent Korean and foreign figures, including hallyu (the Korean pop culture wave) and sports stars, are on display at the museum.

Among them are U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon; U.S. President Barack Obama; Chinese President Xi Jinping; Bae Yong-joon, the hallyu star of the mega-hit TV drama "Winter Sonata (2002)"; Stephen Kim Sou-hwan, Korea’s first cardinal, who died in 2009; Park Tae-hwan who won a gold medal in the 400 meter freestyle and a silver in the 200 meter freestyle events in the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing; former Major League Baseball All-Star Park Chan-ho; former English Premier Leaguer Park Ji-sung; figure skating queen Kim Yuna; K-pop singer Psy who rose to international stardom for "Gangnam Style" featuring his horse-riding dance; and actor Kim Soo-hyun, the star of the mega-hit TV series “My Love from the Star.”

Admission fees are 23,000 won for adults and 15,000 won for children.

The Musee Grevin (Grevin Museum) in Paris, founded in 1882, is one of the oldest wax museums in Europe.
