“Eating Existence”, a web cartoon from Lezhin Entertainment, is aired on NAVER’s “TV Cast” in a form of Web-drama starting Thursday.

Original web cartoon of Eating Existence, portrays the lives of Korean people in their 20’s. It’s a story about Yoo, the protagonist. She is cynical and tough by the looks, but soft and kind inside. Withstanding harsh conditions of everyday ‘normal’ life, she seeks refuge in enjoying delicious food.

The cartoon had accumulated over 13 million views since its first update. It is known to reach out and heal the broken hearted among its readers. Eating Existence is especially popular among female readers. The author, “Deul-gae-ee-bbal” (which means ‘wild dog’s tooth’ in Korean) was awarded from the Ministry of Sports and Culture last year.

The web drama stars famous female comedian Ahn Yung-mi as Yoo, The fans are very excited since Ahn’s unique characteristic is somewhat similar to Yoo. Ahn agrees. “She’s not really pretty, but she is a free-spirited person with a bad temper,” says Ahn. “She does not give up nor compromise easily, which is just like me.”

Lezhin Entertainment’s CEO Han Hee-sung also has high hopes. “Being able to present Eating Existence in a different platform from its original is very exciting,” he said, “Lezhin will seek to provide more viewers with new contents”.

Lezhin Entertainment is a Web-contents company specialized in web cartoon. Its cartoons are translated and serviced in different languages.

Eating Existence will be aired every night at 11 p.m on NAVER’s TV Cast starting from November 12th.
