“TeslaCrypt “ Ransomware is spreading fast in Japan. The ransomware attacks security weak points in Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10. A security specialist in Japan warned on Saturday.

According to a security specialist blog “Livedoor”, a user’s computer can get infected by the ransomware just by watching a Flash ad. TeslaCrypt version of ransomware encrypts files including all document files and other important files such as .exe files.

Once encrypted, the user can only decrypt the files by paying the hacker with Bitcoins. Since this ransomware is the newer version, it cannot be decrypted with the decrypting tool developed after series of hackers caught recently.

The blog warns that when upgrading to Windows 10, sometimes vaccine software gets deleted during the process, and the ransomware starts to attack the computer.

Computer experts advice to stop using Flash. Flash can be turned off by changing settings in web browsers such as Internet Explorer and Chrome.
