Former KARA member Hara signs deal with Key East

Straight after the announcement of South Korean idol group KARA’s disbanding, Goo Hara, the former member of the group signed an exclusive contract with Key East on Monday.

On Friday, DSP Media, the agency of KARA announced its end-of-contract with three members of its four-member group. Goo Hara, Han Seung-yeon and Park Gyu-ri’s contracts with DSP were due to expire on February 2. Rumors were that the trio will not renew their contract and will go their separate ways.

Hara’s new agency, Key East said in a statement “Hara is charming not only as a singer, but is an artist who also has high potential as an MC and an actress. She has the potential to grow in all directions, so we're anticipating a lot from her. We'll use our management know-how to support not only her Korean activities but also her activities in Japan and China, and support her activities as a Hallyu star that represents Korea."

According to a report from Allkpop, Seung-yeon is reported to have signed her contract with Wildmay Entertainment. Sources from the industry said Seung-yeon was looking for an agency which could help the singer / actor pursue her career in acting.
