South Korea's popular boy band BigBang has been included on the Forbes' list of the world's 100 highest-paid celebrities.

"That’s more attributable to the popularity of the group’s music than the depth of its members’ business savvy," the US economic magazine said in an article titled "Bigbang Theory: How K-pop's Top Act Earned $44 Million In A Year".

BigBang took home 44 million US dollars in pretax earnings over the past year, more than the $33.5 million collected by Maroon 5, the highest-paid American male group, it said.

"We made more than Maroon 5? Did not know that. My mom is in charge of my earnings," BigBang's leader G-Dragon was quoted as saying. The Forbes Celebrity 100 list will be released on July 12.
