Japanese athlete recieves $5000 bill for playing Pokémon Go in Brazil

Kohei Uchimura, a 27-year old legendary Japanese gymnast, spent 5,000 US dollars in data coverage to play the phenomenal Pokémon Go in Rio de Janeiro.

According to a report by Kyodo Times, the gymnast downloaded Pokémon Go as he arrived in Brazil and played Pokémon Go. The Kyodo Times said the Uchimura instantly got hooked to the game, not knowing he didn't have a flat rate for overseas data usage.

Uchimura was very depressed after he received the phone bill which included 5,000 dollars for playing the mobile game. But fortunately for the gymnast, he was able to evade the charge after explain to his mobile carrier that he thought he was on a flat international data coverage plan. He now pays 30 dollars a day.

Kohei Uchimura is a four-time gold medalist at the Olympics and a six-time world champion gymnast. He is currently concentrating on pre-Olympic workouts getting ready to grab some more gold at the games.
