South Korea has banned sales of some Beba Optipro powdered milk products distributed by Swiss multinational food and drink giant Nestle for violating food additive standards at home, health authorities said Friday.
The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety said Nestle's branch in South Korea was ordered to recall Beba Optipro 2 and 3 products for containing the additive which is not harmful but unusable for infant food.
Last year, Nestle known for reliable premium baby foods relaunched its baby food brand Gerber in South Korea, ten years after it withdrew from the market due to weak demand.
