Sony, the maker of the best-selling gaming console PlayStation 4, introduced Wednesday an upgraded version of the gaming device – PlayStation 4 Pro.

According to Sony, the new PlayStation will feature a faster processor, larger storage, and enhanced graphics. The new high-end gaming console is priced at 399 US dollars and will come out on November 10.

Sony also unveiled a smaller PlayStation 4. It's 30 percent smaller than its older brother and more power-efficient. However, the slimmer version of PlayStation 4 does not support 4K graphics but considering that most of the consumers own TVs that only support up to 1080p resolution, the new slimmer and cheaper PlayStation 4 could be an ideal choice for many.

The slimmer version is priced at 299 dollars and will go on sale starting from September 15. The original version of PlayStation 4 was released in November 2013 at 399 dollars. Sony has sold more than 43 million PlayStation 4 consoles since its release and the company expects to sell another 20 million units until next year.

Sony's announcement of the new Playstation models and its decreased price is aimed at its competitors Microsoft's upcoming console "Xbox Scorpio" and Nintendo's "NX". Both competitors' models are reportedly scheduled for release during next year.
