Google on Tuesday launched "YouTube Red", a paid version of the world's largest online video service, in South Korea, which became the first Asian country to service YouTube's monthly subscriptions.

YouTube Red's monthly subscription fee was set at 7,900 won (6.7 US dollars). The paid service will help users gain access to ad-free videos, YouTube Music, YouTube Kids, YouTube exclusive videos and video downloads for later viewing.

However, Google Play Music service is not available for South Korean users. The music service allows users to store music files onto cloud libraries and listen to music anywhere if there's a data connection.

Google said original YouTube contents, only available for YouTube Red users, will be ready for South Korean subscribers next year.
