Singer-actress BoA, known as the "Star of Asia", has been dating with popular actor Joo Won. Joo's agency, Huayi Brothers Entertainment, confirmed their relationship Wednesday but refused to disclose details, citing privacy.
BoA debuted in 2000 and moved to Japan a year later to become a key figure who has helped SM Entertainment, one of South Korea's largest entertainment agencies, expand its presence across Asia.
After hoarding sensational popularity in South Korea and Japan for nearly ten years, BoA expanded her career into acting in 2010. The 30-year-old is now recognized by experts and fans as the pioneer of the K-pop syndrome in Asia and a successful actress-turned-singer in South Korea's entertainment scene.
Joo Won, 29, debuted in 2006 as a musical artist and built his career as a drama actor by taking the main role in the hit drama "Baking King Kim Tak-goo" in 2010. Since then, he has been busy appearing in hit dramas and popular TV shows.
