Former girl group KARA member Hara will debut solo in Japan in July, the singer's agency said Thursday. That will be her first activity for two years since the group's last mini-album "ALOHARA", was released in July 2015.

"Hara will release a solo album in Japan this July," the 26-year-old's new agency, Key East, said in a statement. "The exact date of her comeback is not yet fixed. Hara is busy preparing for her comeback."

The four-member group now exists only by its name. HARA was expelled from the group along with two other members -- Seungyeon and Gyuri -- after their contract with DSP Media expired in January last year. Heo Youngji, the only remaining member, stayed with DSP.

DSP made clear that nothing was set for KARA's future, but experts speculate the group will not be revived. While Hara continues to pursue her career as a singer, Seungyeon and Gyuri are chasing their dreams to become professional actresses, appearing in TV dramas and movies.
