South Korea's aircraft producer, Korea Aerospace Industries Co. (KAI), has secured a 243 million US dollar deal to provide wing parts to Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer S.A.

In a regulatory filing, KAI said it would supply wing party worth 280 billion won by the end of 2033 for Embraer's KC-390 military transport aircraft and E190-E2 and E185-E2 passenger jets. The E190-E2, which took its first flight in May 2016, is the first of Embraer's new E-Jet family of three narrow-body medium-range twin-engine jet airliners.

KAI has provided wing and other components to aircraft manufacturers such as Airbus and Boeing with its parts supply deals accounting for one-third of total sales. At home, it has been involved in a number of military aircraft projects.
