"Wine," a song produced by a member of South Korea's popular K-pop idol BTS for female solo artist Suran, gained overnight fame, sweeping the charts of major online music services which had been dominated by the tracks of singer IU's new album for a couple of weeks.

The rare phenomenon in South Korea's music scene came just a day after Suran, 30, released her track. As of Friday morning, it topped the charts of six major music services including Melon and Genie, pushing down's IU's songs to the second.

"Thank you for this opportunity to let my voice be known to the general public," the R&B vocalist said about her impressive feat for the first time since her solo debut in December 2014, vowing to release her first mini-album in May.

"Wine" is a trendy hip-hop, R&B track infused with electro pop and a futuristic base. The lyrics reflect a person seeing the memories of their past relationship in a glass of wine. It was produced by BTS member Suga and featured rapper Changmo.

Suran, known as Elena, thanked Suga and Changmo for their participation, saying she was inspired by Suga's strength and energy. After participating in K-pop duo LODIA in 2014, she went on to debut as a solo artist with "I Feel" and collaborated with numerous artists afterward.
