Kelly Machin, 34, of Leicester, United Kingdom, was brutally attacked on August 23, 2016, by her neighbor Natalie Bollen, 28, and her dad, William Jelly, 48, for bursting a football that flew into her backyard. Machin had been fed up with Bollen's kids constantly kicking balls over the fence into her backyard for months. She then finally punctured one football that flew in on August 23.

Soon after, Bollen came over to Machin's home with a group of women to threaten her. They were overheard yelling, "Come out Kelly", and Bollen shouting, "You might not come out now Kelly, but I'm gonna kill ya."

Machin called 999, a UK emergency line, and told the local authorities that she feared for her life.

The group of women left, but Bollen returned with her dad 20 minutes later. Machin's friend, Winston Hinds, answered the door, but Bollen and Jelly pushed past him and attacked Machin.

In the court hearing, Leicester prosecutor, William Harbage, said Bollen punched Machin three times in the head and Bollen's dad punched and pushed her, causing her to crash into a coffee table. Machin sustained rib fractures from the attack. Harbage added, "When she was on the floor, the defendants then left her curled up on the floor crying, and holding her ribs."

Machin called 999, but when police and paramedics arrived at the scene, they dismissed it as a minor injury.

However, Machin was found dead on September 5 by her friend. At the autopsy, it was found that she lost 1.9 liters of blood over time from the rib fracture. It was estimated that she was slowly and painfully dying over 11 to 12 days.

Natalie Bollen and William Jelly were found guilty on May 4th. They will be sentenced at Leicester Crown Court in June.
