BTS, the most popular K-pop group at home and overseas, has been selected to join a remake project pushed by South Korea's legendary pop star Seo Taiji to celebrate his 25th debut anniversary in September.

Seo, 45, will hold his anniversary concert at the Seoul Olympic Stadium on September 2, according to his agency, Seo Taiji Company. He has launched a project in which junior artists will remake his best songs and choreography.

Seo, a musician and record producer respected as one of South Korea's most prominent and influential cultural icons, led his first-generation boy band "Seo Taiji and Boys" in 1992 and contributed much to the development of Korean pop culture in the 1990s.

Seo has yet to release a full list of artists who will participate in the remake project. BTS performed Seo's "Class Idea" at a TV song festival in 2016. The band was awarded Billboard's Top Social Artist category in May.
