Some 7,000 tickets for American singer Ariana Grande's first concert in South Korea in August were sold out in three minutes after sales began through online ticketing outlets.

The concert on August 15 at Seoul's Gocheok Sky Dome has been organized by Hyundai Card, a credit card company affiliated with South Korea's Hyundai Motor Group. Tuesday's sell-out came a day after the company sold 13,000 tickets exclusively to its members in ten minutes.

The domed stadium used as the home ballpark for the Nexen Heroes has a capacity for more than 16,000 spectators. Ticket prices range from 99,000 won (87 US dollars) to 143,000 won.

At the end of Grande's concert on May 22 in Manchester, a suicide bomber detonated an explosive. Grande suspended her tour until June 7 and held a benefit concert on June 4 in Manchester, raising more than $13 million to aid the victims and their families. The tour resumed in Europe in June and will move to Latin America, followed by stops in Asia and Oceania in August and September.
