No one wants to be falsely imprisoned and framed for scheming rape on ex-fiance's wife. Michelle Hadley, a 30-year-old woman from Southern California, had to go through exactly that. Hadley spent 88 days in jail before all charges against her were dropped.

This twisted story began when a woman named Angela Diaz called 911 that a group of men came to her residence to engage in a "rape fantasy". The local authorities immediately responded to the scene and detained the men. They claimed that the encounter was consensual. Diaz had a ripped shirt on and a red mark on her neck.

Diaz claimed that Hadley who was her husband's ex-fiance had been threatening her to have her raped and sending graphic images to say she would kill her and her unborn child.

For Diaz's safety concern Hadley was charged and jailed until her innocence was proven.

The investigators found out Diaz faked the rape claim and she was the one who arranged the men to be there unbeknownst to them. The threatening messages and graphic images she claimed were from Hadley were sent by Diaz. She also faked her pregnancy.

Diaz's husband and Hadley's ex-fiance, Ian Diaz, who is an agent with the U.S. Marshals Service did not partake in his wife's stunts and fell for her lies too.

Michelle Hadley filed a lawsuit against the city of Anaheim for failing to investigate her case thoroughly before imprisoning her. Her attorney, Michael Guisti, said her time in jail and media attention impacted her life greatly and took a toll on her.

However, Lauren Gold, a city of Anaheim spokesperson, said, "We believe our detectives properly followed the evidence in this unusual case."
