Naver, South Korea's most popular web search portal, has started filtering explicit images from search results, using a system based on artificial intelligence. Filtering explicit contents has been a global problem, and Google, the world's largest search service provider, provides SafeSearch, a filtering system which censors adult contents.

Along with the keyword search, image search is now one of the most used search methods online but it is not perfect, sometimes exposing inappropriate contents to minors.

"Naver X-eye", the AI-based filtering system is capable of detecting explicit online images and blocking them from being shown up in search results, Naver said in a statement, adding its AI showed 98.1 percent accuracy in filtering inappropriate images in a test of about four million contents.
