South Korean college students have created racing drones using laptop computers as their main chassis, including one mounted with LG's lightweight model "Gram".
In a YouTube video promoting Gram, a team from Hanyang University's Division of Interdisciplinary Industrial Studies tested three racing drones. Just one using Gram finished the race while two using other company models crashed.
LG claimed the Gram drone was mounted with a light laptop computer weighing some 940 grams (33 ounces). An average laptop computer weighs around 1.4 kilograms.
