Famous British actors -- Colin Firth, Taron Egerton and Mark Strong -- from a movie "Kingsman: The Golden Circle" were inadvertently caught up in a stage gaffe made by local helpers that triggered a barrage of anger by fans in South Korea.

Fans greeted the three actors with loud cheers and hoots as they slowly walked down the red carpet before entering an event hall at Seoul's Lotte World Tower on Wednesday night. They had to pause many times, taking selfies with fans or signing autographs.

The heated atmosphere soon cooled off and turned into bewilderment and anger after the actors disappeared without attending an on-stage greeting event which was supposed to be held before a movie premiere. Organizers simply said the key event was canceled without giving any proper explanation.

Shocked, some fans refused to watch the movie and left. Hours later, 20th Century Fox Korea apologized for the mistake, saying organizers had misapprehended the schedule of actors, but fans expressed anger over social media, some pointing fingers at the actors.

To cool off the heat, the event organizers sent text messages out to people who were invited to the premiere event and said they would be compensated with free movie tickets and an original movie poster with a wooden frame.
