Charlyn Willis, a newly engaged woman from Savannah, Georgia, can now check out news headlines if she wants to reminisce her engagement day. She got so excited when her longtime-boyfriend Dennis Aikens got down on one knee and proposed to her. She immediately texted her sister. One problem though. She accidentally texted actress Sarah Michelle Gellar instead of her sister.
Upon receiving the engagement news from a complete stranger, the actress who is best known as the Buffy the Vampire Slayer happily replied the text congratulating Willis. Willis was in shock upon learning who replied. After a brief encounter, Gellar gave a congratulatory shoutout on her Instagram and Facebook with Willis' photo.
The actress posted a photo of Willis and her engagement ring and captioned, "This is #CharlynWillis. She got engaged yesterday, and meant to text her sister, but in all the excitement, got me instead. Her sister didn't respond, but I did. So please help me say congrats, to Charlyn. (And her fiance whose name I don't know) #congratulations".
After the post, Gellar's fans outpoured their congratulations and many noted the actress' kind heart. The Facebook post went viral since and garnered over 14,000 reactions as of Thursday.

Willis also took to her Facebook to mark and moment and thank the actress. With the recording of the Gellar's live feed and a photo of her engagement ring, she wrote, "I guess the best way to announce your engagement is to have a celebrity to do it for you.. THANKS Sarah Michelle Gellar... AND YES, I SAID YES to Dee!!!!!"
Willis also got over 1.7 million congratulatory messages from Gellar's fans on Instagram and Facebook since. She thanked the actress in the comment section under Gellar's Facebook post and said, "You've truly made my engagement experience even more of a life changer! Please know when we set a date, I'll be reaching out to invite you, Freddie, and the kids."
Gellar did not respond to this message yet as of Thursday night. If she gets to attend Willis' wedding, that will definitely make the day for Charlyn Willis and her fiance, Dennis Aikens.
