SEOUL, Feb. 13 (Aju News) -- Wanna One, a popular boy group, urged "Sasaeng fans", a K-pop term for over-intrusive followers, to stop destroying the private life of group members.

YMC Entertainment, the 11-member group's management company, uploaded ay a post onto the group's online fan community Tuesday, denounced some fans for trying to contact Wanna One members by obtaining phone numbers illegally.

Wanna One members are under severe stress because they cannot go on with their ordinary lives, the agency said. "Please stop acts of destroying their precious life."

Along with cyber bullies who harass celebrities with coordinated cyber attacks, "Sasaeng" fans have long been a problem in South Korea's K-pop scene. Two years ago, Girls' Generation member Taeyeon expressed her frustration at intrusive fans who have repeatedly called her at night through her Instagram.

Two years ago, Lee Hyori, a former member of South Korea's first-generation girl group FINKL,  moved her house on the southern island of Jeju because of frequent and unheralded visits by tourists and fans.

There have been accidents involving Sasaeng fans. In 2013, Big Bang member Seungri was caught up in a car accident in China while trying to get away from over-enthusiastic fans. Some Sasaeng fans were accused of causing car accidents so that they could get a glimpse of stars.
