SEOUL -- Red Velvet will sing two of its latest hits, "Red Flavor" and "Bad Boy," during two rare performances by a South Korean troupe in Pyongyang next week, sources well informed of the shows said Monday.

They said the girl group submitted a list of five or more songs to a group of South Korean officials working to organize the concerts, and "Red Flavor" and "Bad Boy" were picked among them. The band's playlist has drawn keen attention since, as the only idol group included in the South Korean art troupe, they can showcase the current status of globally hot K-pop in the isolated communist country.

Released in July, "Red Flavor" became a sensation in the music market with its interesting lyrics describing a hot summer and exhilarating feelings of love using the color red. "Bad Boy" swept the iTunes charts of 16 countries around the world upon its release in January. The song is about a femme fatale drawn to a man who appears to be a "bad boy type."

Including the quintet, the South Korean art troupe will stage two performances during its visit to Pyongyang from Saturday to Tuesday. It will hold an individual concert on Sunday, and a joint concert with North Korean artists on Tuesday.
