WASHINGTON -- U.S. President Donald Trump said that "good things" are happening after the leaders of the two Koreas agreed to pursue a peace treaty and denuclearization of the peninsula.

"After a furious year of missile launches and Nuclear testing, a historic meeting between North and South Korea is now taking place," Trump tweeted after South Korean President Moon Jae-in and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un held talks. "Good things are happening, but only time will tell!"

Trump is set to have his own meeting with Kim in May or early June to discuss the denuclearization of the regime. "KOREAN WAR TO END! The United States, and all of its GREAT people, should be very proud of what is now taking place in Korea!" he said, apparently taking credit for bringing North Korea to the table.
