SEOUL --  Fan communities of boy band Wanna One are bustling with fans anticipating for the 11-member group's appearance on a popular TV home shopping channel to participate in a promotion for a fashion brand.

"I have canceled a meeting with my friends so that I can watch the home shopping show at home," Lee Yeon-woo, a 30-year-old businesswoman told Aju News on Friday. Lee said she and a bunch of her friends from an online Wanna One fan community enthusiastically buy products promoted by the group. "To show love, we buy a lot of promoted products," she said.

CJmall, a shopping service wing of South Korean food and culture conglomerate CJ Group, announced this week that it will live broadcast a shopping show featuring members of Wanna One on its cable TV home shopping channel. The popular K-pop group will promote a selection of T-shirts at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

K-pop idols appearing on a home shopping show is not a rare sight in South Korea. In November last year, members of boy band Super Junior sold padded down jackets in just 30 minutes. In March, iKon, a hip-hop band sold Bulgogi, beef slices marinated in Korean style soy sauce, through a shopping show.
