SEOUL -- "Everything was surprising and wonderful at the Billboard Music Awards," Jimin, a BTS member, said after the K-pop boy group was awarded the "Top Social Artist" for the second year in a row.

"It made me wonder if I was supposed to sit among the big names," the 22-year-old said, uploading a post onto the group's Twitter on Tuesday. The seven-member group won the award given to artists who are the most influential on online communities and social media after competing with Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande and Shawn Mendes.

"We feel proud when international fans understand our Korean songs with their heart," BTS leader RM told a TV news show. "Some fans have told us that our songs changed their lives. We came to know that our songs are influential."

BTS returned to the music scene last week with "Love Yourself: Tear" and its title song "FAKE LOVE". The boys performed at the awards event, becoming the hottest keyword searched on Google. The song's music video garnered more than 78 million views on YouTube in less than five days of its release.
