SEOUL -- North Korean leader Kim Jong-un broke his promise of making South Korean President Moon Jae-in sleep well. Moon said he had been awake through the night prior to a historic summit in Singapore.

At their first summit in April, Kim expressed sorry for waking Moon up in the middle of the night with sudden provocations like pre-dawn missile launches and promised that the South Korean leader would have a good sleep.

However, the sleepless night Moon went through this week was because of high hopes. "The U.S.-North Korea summit has just begun. I think every attention of South Koreans is focused on Singapore. It's hard to sleep last night," Moon said Tuesday at a cabinet meeting in Seoul.

Moon also expressed his anticipation for a successful summit in Singapore. "I and South Koreans dearly wish the summit to be successful."
