SEOUL -- Fans of BTS, a popular K-pop band, in Thailand donated more than 200 liters of blood to commemorate the group's fifth anniversary of its debut.

BTS Thailand, one of the many ARMYs in Thailand tweeted Wednesday that it successfully carried out a blood donation campaign to mark the debut of the seven-member group. ARMY is an official name for BTS' international fan clubs. BTS Thailand also uploaded a video onto YouTube.

The fans expressed their gratitude towards the K-pop band through the video. "The most significant love is the self-love", the subtitles read. Fans said the donation of blood, "carried out to bring lives of others back to power", is the beginning of love for others that they learned from BTS.

Through the blood donation campaign which began last month, a total of 204,100 milliliters of blood was donated. The quantity is enough to save the lives of more than 1,500 people, the fan club said.

BTS Thailand will donate profit made from the donation campaign to the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), which provides humanitarian and developmental support for children in need. "Love Myself", an anti-violence campaign project, was launched by UNICEF and BTS last year to stop violence against children.
