SEOUL -- Villagers and tourists were seen collecting anchovies scattered along the beach Monday in the eastern port of Yanyang with their bare hands. This week, shoals of anchovies were found to be pushed out to the beach in many places along the east coast.
Experts believe this phenomenon occurs when anchovies, driven by top predators such as mackerel, are driven to the beach.
