SEOUL -- The fan community of South Korea's first-generation K-pop boy band H.O.T went crazy over the group's first concert in 17 years.  It is scheduled to be held in October but details will be disclosed later.

The legendary five-member group debuted in 1996 and gained phenomenal popularity at home by covering different genres from hip-hop to techno music. H.O.T disbanded in 2001, leaving millions of fans heartbroken.

H.O.T caused hype among fans, who are now in their 30s and 40s, when they temporarily reunited to hold an event concert for a TV show titled Infinity Challenge in February this year with other artists from the 1990s. "Since the special episode of Infinity Challenge, fans have strongly wanted H.O.T to come back," said PRM, the concert organizer.

"This is the best news I've heard in years!" Jin Eun-ah, a 33-year-old business woman, told Aju News, promising to buy concert tickets with her fan club friends. "I think ticketing will be a nightmare, almost impossible."

Already, fan communities are filled with those organizing teams for strategic ticketing. Because of fierce competition in online ticketing, fans talk about the concerted block purchase of tickets.

"I got tons of calls from friends asking me if I could get some backdoor tickets," an entertainment industry official said on condition of anonymity. He said he would get tickets for himself and his wife if he has a chance.
