SEOUL -- South Korea's disgraced former ambassador to Ethiopia was jailed in court Wednesday after he received a one-year jail sentence on charges of raping a woman and sexually harassing two others.

The court rejected Kim's argument that he had sex after obtaining prior consent from the victim while serving as ambassador. He was also found guilty of sexually harassing two other women.

Kim, who was recalled last year for a foreign ministry probe, had been involved in sexual harassment while drinking with women in the African country. The court ordered him to take a sexual abuse treatment program for 40 hours. He has been investigated by state prosecutors since he lost his job.
