SEOUL -- Epic High, a popular South Korean hip-hop trio led by Tablo, left YG Entertainment after seven years.

YG Entertainment, which has artists such as BLACK PINK and BIGBANG under its wings, said in a statement this week that after a series of careful discussion, the agency and the trio had decided not to renew their contract.

"We would like to express our gratitude toward Tablo and Epic High for being with us for seven years and for their great music," YG said, asking fans to bless the trio's future. Tablo was the head of HIGHGROUND, a label of YG, but resigned in July.

Epic High debuted in 2001 and has become one of the favorite hip-hop bands of South Koreans. Its members -- Tablo, Mithra Jin and DJ Tukutz -- are famous for their various music experiments and collaborations with other popular artists such as singer IU and rock band Hyukoh.
