SEOUL -- In an effort to strengthen its competitiveness in the food resources market, LG International, the trading wing of South Korean conglomerate LG Group, acquired two palm oil farms in Indonesia.
LG International said in a statement Thursday that the company purchased two farms owned by Barito Pacific, an Indonesian petrochemical company, for a total of $67.9 million. The palm oil farms are located in West Kalimantan province. The two farms cover a total area of 25,000 hectares and have independent palm oil producing facilities.
