SEOUL -- Samsung Electronics will use its 5G solution to live broadcast the official media channel of next week's Mobile World Congress (MWC), the world's largest exhibition for the global mobile industry, in Spain.

Samsung said in a statement Tuesday that it will live broadcast "Mobile World Live TV" on big screens throughout the exhibition venue, lobbies and the bedrooms of more than 280 hotels in Barcelona next week. The official media channel will be streamed live worldwide.

Samsung's 5G solution includes a radio access unit (5G radio) and a 5G router. The company said it would use high-definition television video (HDTV) cameras to shoot interviews and other programs.

"We are thrilled to demonstrate how our latest technology can make an outstanding difference in creating new possibilities for broadcast at MWC19 Barcelona," Samsung's networks business head GY Seo was quoted as saying.

Samsung's 5G solution will replace previous fiber-based communication lines. The company pointed out that its solution is effective in overcoming physical limitations of a fiber-based network. The super-fast 5G network is ideal for transferring large packets of data such as ultra-high definition video files.
