SEOUL -- Samsung SDS, an information technology service provider in South Korea, forged a strategic partnership with VMware, a Dell Technologies subsidiary, to cooperate in digital workspace innovation and find new business opportunities in public, finance, healthcare and retail industries.

Samsung SDS, a Samsung group unit, said it would integrate its enterprise solutions with VMware's Workspace ONE, an open and intelligent digital workspace platform developed by VMware, which provides cloud computing and platform virtualization software and services.

The companies would work together in cloud and explore new possibilities in Internet of Things (IoT), blockchain, 5G and other new technologies.

"Combining Samsung SDS’ deep vertical expertise with VMware’s digital workspace platform will provide our mutual customers with powerful solutions for unified endpoint management, enhanced digital workspace security and improved end-user productivity and experience," Shankar Iyer, senior vice president of VMware's end-user computing business unit, said in a statement.
