SEOUL -- K-pop band BTS was nominated by American Music Awards (AMA), an annual music awards, for the second time in its career.

AMA announced nominees for this year's awards event to be held at Los Angeles on November 24 and the seven-member band was nominated for Favorite Duo or Group - Pop/Rock Category, Tour of the Year and Favorite Social Artist. BTS' rival K-pop boy band, EXO, was also nominated for Favorite Social Artist.

This is the second time that BTS has been nominated for AMA awards. The band received a love call from American fans in 2018 and won the Favorite Social Artist award.

Since its debut in 2013, BTS has been writing a new history in South Korea's music industry by winning Billboard's Top Duo/Group award at the annual music awards show hosted by the prominent American music magazine in May this year. The band also won Billboard's Top Social Artist award for three consecutive years in 2019.

BTS is currently preparing for the final leg of "Love Yourself: Speak Yourself", the band's super-successful world stadium tour. A three-day concert will be held in Seoul this month.
