SEOUL -- Big data, including consumer data created in daily life, are now vital for enterprises or startups to precisely plan their business direction. However, ordinary people cannot gain access to such data.

To help enterprises, startup owners and individuals gain easy access to important data, KT, South Korea's largest telecom company, has launched "KT Big Data Platform", a cloud-based big data trading platform.

KT said on Tuesday that its big data trading platform collects data from 16 data centers that belong to KT, a credit card company and a real estate company. "Non-professionals can easily extract and process data to get various insights," the telecom company said, adding collected data can be categorized into 128 types.

KT has collected 113 terabytes of data that can be fused with other data. KT's platform offers an artificial intelligence (AI)-curated data service. A recommendation service allows users to analyze the ideal type of business for a certain city district.
