SEOUL -- Mina, a Japanese member of South Korea's girl band TWICE, will resume her official group activities after a four-month break that began in August last year because of anxiety disorder.

JYP Entertainment said in a statement uploaded onto the official online community for Japanese fans that the 22-year-old singer will greet fans at a fan meeting on February 1 and 2 in Japan.

Mina was temporarily pulled out of all group activities in August last year due to extreme anxiety and insecurity about being on stage. Other members have carried on with group activities to promote TWICE's album "Feel Special" released in September.

Extreme anxiety occurs continuously or intermittently and the level of anxiety fluctuates abruptly, JYP said, adding that because of this variable situation, Mina's activities were judged through consultation with herself and members.

Although JYP did not disclose the exact cause of Mina's problem, many fans speculated that a focused attack from cyberbullies caused her illness.

TWICE, which debuted in 2015, has three Japanese members -- Mina, Momo and Sana. Cyberattacks on Japanese K-pop stars have intensified because of a diplomatic row between Seoul and Tokyo over issues related to Japan's 1910~1945 colonial rule.
