Digital celebrity Sua to be upgraded with AMD's rendering and simulation technology

SEOUL -- Sua, a digital human modeled after a K-pop star, will have a more realistic and natural hair with hair and fur rendering and simulation technology developed by AMD, an innovative American technology company. The virtual person has gained popularity with real-time interaction as well as a realistic and natural look.

Sua's founder, On Mind, will work with AMD to upgrade its TressFX hair and fur rendering and simulation technology which naturally expresses the hair of 3D characters. "The fact that AMD chose Sua as a partner for implementing realistic hair simulation technology proves that On Mind's technology is recognized," said On Mind CEO Kim Hyeong-il.

AMD TressFX is a software library that provides for advanced simulation and rendering of hair, fur, and grass to be processed by graphic processing units (GPUs). On Mind would emphasize Sua's visual aspects such as lifestyle and fashion through Instagram and add a world view and storytelling to bring the character's vitality to life. She would show its charm as a YouTube creator engaged in music activities.

On Mind has been acquired by Neptune, a mobile game and software developing wing of South Korea's web service company, Kakao.
