SEOUL -- South Korea's Hyundai auto group and its construction subsidiary will introduce home-to-car and car-to-home services using voice recognition gadgets at new apartments. The group has forged a series of strategic partnerships with foreign and domestic technology firms to develop connected car technologies, an upgraded voice recognition system and an AI robot for connectivity.

A home-to-car service allows drivers to control their cars at their homes using a voice recognition system. Hyundai E&C would introduce the service at a new apartment complex beginning in August.

A car-to-home service controls built-in devices connected to a home IoT system from automobiles by operating navigation screens or voice commands. Hyundai E&C would introduce the service gradually to operate robot vacuum cleaners or air purifiers through voice or check the condition of laundry dryers in the bedroom.

Hyundai E&C said home-to-car and car-to-home services are meaningful in that they use a platform that combines home network facilities and connected car technologies. The builder is developing an "active house" that allows real-time communication between cars and buildings. An integrated control system will be applied to connect cars and robots to various IoT devices in intelligence buildings.
