'Miracle in Cell No. 7' draws more than 7 million moviegoers

Two South Korean films "Miracle in Cell No. 7" and "The Berlin File" have become box-office hits, according to the Korean Film Council (KOFIC) on Feb. 13.

The comedy "Miracle in Cell No. 7" has attracted more than 7 million moviegoers since its opening 20 days ago, while "The Berlin File," a spy thriller, has been viewed by more than 5 million people for past two weeks.

"Miracle in Cell No. 7," directed by Lee Hwan-kyung, depicts a retarded, childish man who raises a young daughter in cell No. 7 with the help of other inmates.

"The Berlin File," directed by Ryu Seung-wan, stars Ha Jung-woo, Han Suk-kyu and Jun Ji-hyun. A North Korean agent in Berlin is betrayed and cut loose when a weapons deal is exposed.
