S. Korean shares drop 0.47%; Asian stocks plunge

Kospi dropped 0.47 percent to 2,015.22 on Feb. 21.

Samsung Electronics rose 0.32 percent to 1.55 million won. Hyundai Mobis and SK hynix were up 0.65 percent and 0.38 percent, respectively.

POSCO and Hyundai Motor were down 1.75 percent and 0.46 percent, respectively.

Kosdaq dropped 0.24 percent to 524.44.

The won-dollar exchange rate rose 7.55 won to 1,086.05 won.

Meanwhile, Asian stocks plunged amid concerns that the Federal Reserve may scale back economic stimulus measures, and as Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao called for measures to curb real estate speculation.

China's Shanghai Composite Index fell 3.12 percent and HongKong's HangSeng Index Index dropped 1.73 percent. Japan’s Nikkei225 Index was down 1.39 percent.
