Beginning on April 15, South Koreans can travel to India without getting visas in advance.

The Indian Embassy in Seoul said Thursday that India will provide visa-on-arrival (VOA) services to Korean tourists in a bid to promote cultural and human exchanges between the two countries.

During her state visit to India in January, President Park Geun-hye welcomed the Indian government’s plan to provide tourist VOA facilities to Korean nationals.

Korean visitors will be able to receive a single-entry tourist visa valid for 30 days for a fee of US$60 or the equivalent amount in Indian rupees, the embassy said in a press release.

VOA facility is available at eight airports in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Thiruvananthapuram and Cochin.
