'Gimbap' Japanese people's most favorite Korean food, survey says

"Gimbap," or rice rolled in seaweed with various fillings, is the Japanese people's most favorite Korean food, a poll said.

"Dakgangjeong," fried chicken, came in second, followed by "hottok," hot, flat bread with sweet syrup inside; “gyeranppang,” a small piece of bread with a whole egg cooked on top; "jjukumi bokeum," small octopus sautéed in gochujang sauce with lots of vegetables, according to the SNS survey of 80,000 Japanese conducted by the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) between Feb. 3 and March 8.

“Budae jjigae,” spicy stew mixed with chopped kimchi, sausage and noodles, ranked sixth; “gopchang,” intestines of cows or pigs seventh; "bindaetteok," mung bean pancakes eighth; “jjajangmyeon,” noodles in a black bean sauce ninth; and "tteokbokki," rice cake soup 10th.
