China's Konka Group has established strategic ties with South Korea's Coway Co. to make a joint foray into the fast-growing bidet market in Asia's largest economy.

Coway said a business cooperation accord was signed with Konka, an electronics and telecom product maker, at its headquarters in Shenzhen, Guangdong.

The companies agreed to work together for the development of bidets for Chinese consumers while Konka is in charge of selling Copway's premium bidets.

Coway, South Korea’s leading water purifier maker and rental firm, signed a memorandum of understanding with China's electronics giant Haier Group in June to form a strategic alliance for sales of water purifiers. Coway posted a 27 percent on-year increase in operating profit to 463.3 billion won (405 million US dollars) last year.
