South Korea's First Lady, Kim Jung-sook, has surprised people with her very down-to-earth behavior ever since her husband, Moon Jae-in, was elected. She once made headlines after spontaneously gifting the jacket she was wearing to Joan Hubbard, the wife of a former US consul in Seoul, at the Seoul-Washington Women's Association meeting.

Kim was the very first in South Korea's political history to visit and volunteer at the farms battered by severe floods in North Chungcheong Province, the president's office said.

She went even further to purchase fallen fruits such as watermelons, peaches and blueberries from flood-stricken farmers in Jeungpyeong and Eumseong counties and made a nice fruit punch that was served at a meeting of top aides on Thursday, according to a presidential pool report.

Moon's chief secretary, Lim Jong-suk, said in a statement, "With hope to bring attention to what the farmers suffered and to share the broken hearts, she made fruit punch with salvaged fruits purchased from Jeungpyeong and Eumseong."

President Moon and his wife have made headlines with their romantic stories. Kim famously proposed to Moon decades ago: "Are you going to marry me or not? Tell me now." They are still in love more than ever and have often been spotted holding hands and laughing together even without the presence of reporters.

The very outspoken and bubbly First Lady said in an interview with the Korea Herald, a Seoul-based English newspaper, "I aim to be just myself, as I have always been." She is winning over the hearts of Korean people in her own way.
